Description: Answered Prayers - The Lamb Part 1 The Ascension of the Lamb (Duncan Black, Frankie V., Jasper Robinson, Max Carter, Max Ryder) Jake Jaxson's groundbreaking erotic morality play ANSWERED PRAYERS continues with THE ASCENSION OF THE LAMB, the first part of a stylishly twisted two-part story centered on a mysterious orphan boy known only as the Lamb. Like the past central archetypes of ANSWERED PRAYERS, THE LAMB is haunted by fear. Taken in as the ward to a benevolent yet strict guardian, his fear is only made worse by classmates Cain, Pain, and Vain teasing and threatening him until he reaches his breaking point. So the Lamb tries to escape. Yet no matter how hard he tries, all roads lead him back to the care of his guardian. He's forced into a dark, quiet attic as punishment where he's confronted with his biggest fear of all -- isolation. But without darkness, there can be no light and the Lamb must find balance. Featuring knockout performances from Max Ryder, Max Carter, Jasper Robinson, Frankie Valentine, and Duncan Black, with cameos from Jake Bass and the legendary Dean Monroe, the Ascension of the Lamb is a study of consequences and responsibility that ultimately lead the Lamb to his true fate. "You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star." — Friedrich Nietzsche I'm often asked why it takes so long between my feature projects—part one of Answered Prayers was released in October 2013, and now here we are on Part Four: The Lamb. My answer to that question is usually the same: "It's not time yet." While that is a simple answer, the truth is not that simple. The process of creating our feature film projects with these amazing, beautiful souls is both a joy and curse, as there are so many conflicting emotions, needs, hopes, desires and expectations attached to the process. Also, my process—while creative—is chaotic at best. In fact, my team is often surprised to see the final result, even after experiencing the battle it's taken to get there. However, no one is more surprised that myself, since I am often overcome with fear, upset and self-doubt. I find that, more and more, it is this fear and doubt that creates the chaos that often rules our life's work, love, and being. Oddly—or maybe it's the universe's idea of a cruel joke—from this chaos, great things can happen. From breakdowns come breakthroughs. And to that degree this is a necessary evil in my creative process, the theme of Answered Prayers and the inspiration for The Lamb. That said, there has been no greater joy and blessing than having the ability to work with a group of amazing performers who allow me the opportunity to both understand and know them in an effort to create their performances. They give me the gift of trust, and it is that trust I am so truly grateful for, because without them, how I work would not be possible. Please shower them with praise, because for many performers, positive energy and authentic praise is worth more than a bit of silver (And don't we all feel a bit better when saying a kind word rather than a jab). More than ever, I'd like to thank my collaborators in Love and Life, RJ & Benny, for suffering the worst of my chaos, but still loving at the times when I'm blind to that light. And Cilantro Che Guevara—our video editor, the translator of chaos, a champion, and my hero! Thank you for always finding the best in each performance and every clip. Your dedicated effort is appreciated well beyond our editing bay. Thank you. As always, thank you to each of you who support our work. It is what keeps this all going and challenges us to work harder, to move beyond what we all believe and expect is possible.
